Nigerian Names

Cookies

Almost nothing, and we mean almost.

Nigerian Names doesn't run third-party trackers, ad networks, or session recorders. Here's the complete list of what we keep in your browser.

localStorage

Gender vote memory

When you vote on a name's gender perception, we save a small entry like nn:voted:abiodun = "masculine" in your browser's localStorage. That's how we stop the same browser from voting twice on the same name. It never leaves your device, and it's tied to your browser (not your identity).

You can clear these any time via your browser's “Clear site data” / DevTools → Application → Local Storage. Clearing them lets you vote again.

Cookies

None today

We don't currently set any cookies. The site is rendered as static pages with revalidation, so there's no session to persist. If we add features later that need cookies (authenticated contributors, saved name lists), we'll update this page first.

Third-party tracking

No ads, no Google Analytics, no session replay

We use Vercel's built-in analytics for aggregate visitor counts (which are anonymous and don't set tracking cookies). The Cloudflare Turnstile widget on the contribution form may set short-lived challenge cookies on submission, and those expire as soon as you submit.
